

Liebeth Turbati is a former South African foreign service officer who served at missions in Denmark, Peru, Italy and Canada. Ms. Turbati previously served in South Africa’s Foreign Ministry as a desk officer for the U.S. & Canada, southern Europe, and SADC countries. Prior to joining MA, she assisted the Embassy of Afghanistan in re-opening its Washington, D.C. diplomatic mission. Ms. Turbati trained as a UN electoral observer and was chief electoral officer in Vancouver during South Africa’s first democratic elections. She is a coordinating member of the Aspen Institute’s Middle East Strategy Group. Ms. Turbati received a B.A. from the University of Pretoria and is a Career Foreign Service Officer graduate of South Africa’s Diplomatic Academy.
