Our activities in India and South Asia include assisting a biopharmaceutical company on navigating the sensitive politics of intellectual property rights in India, advising a global retailer on India's unique market, as well as providing analysis and advice to an internet firm, a logistics company, and an insurance company on new laws and regulations that affect their respective industry sectors in India.

Our India and South Asia team:
- John D. Negroponte, our vice-chairman, most recently served as deputy secretary of state and has broad relationships throughout South Asia.
- Nelson W. Cunningham, our managing partner, developed our India practice and serves as a board member of the U.S.-India Business Council.
- Alyssa Ayres, a specialist in India, Pakistan, and South Asian affairs, brings nearly two decades of regional experience to our India and South Asia practice. Trained as a scholar, she most recently served at the State Department as special assistant for South and Central Asia to the under secretary for political affairs.
